Brooklyn’s oldest and largest street festival, the Atlantic Antic, is my proudest moment as an event producer. At 24 years young and fresh off an Amtrak train from Chicago, I was the lead producer of this historic and gargantuan, outdoor festival.  Spanning 10 neighborhood blocks, with 5 music stages and 800 local food, craft, and non-profit vendors, the Atlantic Antic is held the last Sunday in September, rain or shine. Auster Agency, a three-person agency at the time, gave me complete creative and operational control of the event and I made sure not to disappoint.

Brooklyn Designs is Brooklyn’s premier design event showcasing a cross section of design, architecture and art. Founded by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce in 2003, it was one of the first design fairs to shine a spotlight on the creative economy in Brooklyn. Products created by emerging designs range from furniture, lighting, tableware, art, textiles, and jewelry.  Attendees include: interior and product designers, architects, builders, developers, urban planners, educator, store buyers, industry influencers and design-savvy customers.

Auster Agency and I decided to create a shared-venue experience rather showcase at one large event space. St. Ann’s Warehouse, the Tobacco Warehouse, the DUMBO Arts Center, and Smack Mellon all located within walking distance of other another was the perfect solution.
