  • Brought on my interior designer and print producer

At the end of 2020, people were beyond eager to get outdoors, even during a harsh New York City winter. Producing for Tishman Speyer / Rockefeller Center was a dream come true. The iconic Christmas tree I saw on television as I child was now my co-worker.

As Creative Production Lead, my role was to creatively direct and experientially produce the Rink branding built by Known Agency. I hired my interior designer to design the creative layout. My print producer was responsible for all wristbands, stickers, signage, vinyl. I scouted, pitched, and hired VO talent that we used throughout the season. My interior designer and I chose all of the photography.

Regarding logistics, it was the strictest I have ever encountered. Skating reservations had to be made online in advance, and if not, all walk-up guests were turned away. Skating time was limited to 45 minutes a guest due to a 77% Covid capacity rule. Our team complied with this law by distributing colored stickers to guests. When the VO called out your color, you had to leave the ice. It was a wild time for IRL event production, but one I will never forget.
